This can occur when a printer is accessible via more than one method.

  • A standalone network printer is added to a computer, then shared over the network.
  • A network capable printer is hooked up via Ethernet AND Usb.

  • If hooked up via USB and ethernet, ensure only one is hooked up. (Preferably ethernet)
  • Remove printer from ALL workstations, ensure that there is no computer on the network which still has the printer installed on it.
  • Download latest driver, and reinstall printer using the manufacturer provided software. (Especially important with HP Printers). DO NOT USE existing drivers. Use the drivers you downloaded from the website. In the case of HP, if available, us the PCL5 Universal Print Driver.
