====== {$page} ====== The Cost Analysis By Order is the primary system report for analyzing job profitability and comparing estimated costs to actual costs. The following information is provided on the report: * Income * Estimated Quantities and Costs * Actual Quantities and Costs (for parts recorded to date) * Estimated Margin * Actual Margin (for costs recorded to date) ===== Analysis Options ===== The report has a number of options that can be configured to present the information in the following formats: * **Summary Analysis** - Show each order on one line, with no part breakdown. Order margin and total estimated and actual costs are displayed. * **Order and Station Analysis** - Show estimated and actual costs for all parts for each order by station, but do not break it down by line items. * **Order and Line Item Analysis** - Show estimated and actual costs for all parts for each order by line item. Line item margin is also displayed. To make the setup easier, this report is found in the standard menus several times with different options preconfigured. ===== Where the Numbers Come From ===== This section details how each of the numbers on the report are derived. * **Income**. The income number is the current subtotal price of the order. * **Estimated Quantity**. The estimated quantity is the estimated quantity for parts on the order (from the TransPart table). * **Estimated Cost**. The estimated cost is the estimated cost of parts on the order (from the TransPart table). * **Actual Quantity**. The actual quantity is the sum of all quantity from the GL for that part. * **Actual Cost**. The actual quantity is the sum of all costs from the GL for that part. * **Cost Difference**. The cost difference is calculated as the Actual - Estimated. If can be displayed as * Number: The difference in quantity is displayed. * Cost: The difference in cost is displayed. * Percentage: The percent difference (Actual-Estimated)/Estimate*100 is shown. * **Estimate Margin**. You can limit this report to a particular order or a list of orders. * Dates. You can specify a date for the report. This date is used to pull all orders that were created in the specified date range. This date is //not// used to determine which income or cost is used. **All** income and costs associated with these orders are used regardless of the date in which they were incurred. * Salesperson. You can limit this report to a particular salesperson or list of salespeople. When set, only orders with the selected salesperson as the primary salesperson will appear. * Company.
