Categories

When a Derived Product is created, it will default to being placed in the same category as the Base Product. However, you may place it in any category you like, or as a top-level product.

Quick Products / Pick From Derived

Derived Products behave just like products in the Quick Product list, with one exception. If a Base Product has Pick From Derived checked, when you attempt to add that product, you will get a list of Derived Products to choose from.

Alice has finished up making every derived product she can think of for Flatbed Prints. At this point, she doesn't want flatbed prints to be added directly, as she would prefer one of the derived products to be used. Alice decides to set her Flatbed Print product to “Pick From Derived” so that her Derived Products will be the ones used when an order is made from the quick product list.

  1. Open Setup > Pricing Setup > All Pricing Setup
  2. Click on Product Setup
  3. Click on the Flatbed Prints product and click Edit

  1. Check “Pick from Derived Products”
