CHAPI utilizes a local user account to run the CHAPI_ServiceHost service under services.msc

This account is created by default during the installation of CHAPI. If this account is removed or the password is changed, the CHAPI service will not run successfully.

• The CHAPI user does not exist.
• The CHAPI service can not be started due to a logon failure.

1. Update the password for the CHAPI local user then update the CHAPI ServiceHost by clicking the Logon tab of the service.
   • This article will give you the password details needed for resetting the password.

1. Recreate the CHAPI local user then update the CHAPI ServiceHost by clicking the Logon tab of the service.
2. Reinstall CHAPI using the Manual Command Line instructions.
