With the addition of the Shipping Tab in Control, all of the shipment information is now consolidated to one location, and the ability to split Orders into multiple shipments has been added. Shipment information is also saved here, such as ship dates, tracking numbers, and quantities sent in each shipment. A few of the changes you should be aware of:

  • The Ship To information has been removed from the Company Tab; this is now displayed on the Shipping Tab.
  • The Ship From information has been removed from the Totals Tab; this is now displayed on the Shipping Tab.
  • Orders can be shipped in one shipment or split into multiple shipments, and can be shipped on different dates.
  • Shipments can be locked so that no changes can be made to them except by authorized users.
  • There are various options located at the top to choose how the Order will be shipped. Below is an explanation of each selection.

  • Customer will pick up - The customer will be taxed based on your location regardless of where they are located. If they have a sales tax exemption certificate for your state then it would be a non-taxable sale.
  • Customer will take possession at billing address -The customer will be taxed based on their location, if they are out of state and you don't have presence then it would be treated as a non-taxable sale generally. If you do have a presence then it would be taxed unless they have sales tax exemption certificate. An example of how this option would be used is if the order is being delivered, installed, etc. and not being shipped.
  • Ship Everything in One Shipment / Multiple Shipments -The customer will be taxed based on the origination address and destination address. If they're out of state and you don't have a presence then it's a non-taxable sale generally. If you do have a presence then it would be taxed unless they have sales tax exemption certificate.

There are also some training videos available for this new feature. Log into the customer website at www.cyrioussoftware.com and click Training, then 3. Basic Training in the submenu, and scroll down to the Managing Shipping section.
