Shipping Method Setup

In this article, we will be outlining the default Ecommerce Shipping Methods section of the Admin Panel. If you would like more specific information about a given topic, please reach out to the Ecommerce Training Staff at ecommerce@cyrious.com.

Additionally, Ecommerce supports an XPS Shipping integration for shipping calculations. By default, this feature is turned off for all Ecommerce customers. + (Shipping Method) - This option will allow you to create a new Shipping Method.

Toolbar

1. Edit - To edit an existing record, click on the corresponding row.
2. Shipping Method Name - This is the name used to identify the Shipping Method externally.
3. Shipping Code - This is the name used to identify the Shipping Method internally.
4. Stores - This shows if the Shipping Method is attached to all Stores or a single Store.
5. More Options - Represented as 3 vertical dots on the far right side of the Shipping Method row. Hover over the option menu for the following:
   1. Clone - Represented as overlapping pages. This allows you to clone a Shipping Method.
   2. Set Inactive / Set Active- This easily toggles the Shipping Method on and off for any Store(s) where it is attached.
   3. Delete - This option allows you to delete Shipping Methods that are no longer needed. Each Store must have at least one shipping method active.

Details

1. Shipping Method Name - This will be displayed to the customer on the checkout basket.
2. Shipping Code - This is your internal code for the Shipping Method, if applicable.
3. Store - This option allows you to decide if this Shipping Method is valid for all Stores or a single Store.
4. Handling Charge - This is a flat charge for handling and packaging when usnig this Shipping Method. Leave it at zero if you don't wish to include the charge in your pricing.
5. Destination Country - This option allows you to decide if this Shipping Method is valid for all countries or a single country. You will want to make sure your Store billing and shipping address settings are compatible with this selection.

Display Settings

1. Enable during Checkout - If checked, the Shipping Method will be available for selection on the relevant Stores.
2. Display Order - Allows you to organize your Shipping Methods in an order of your choice.
   1. Smaller numbers will be displayed first.
   2. Display order doesn't automatically re-index.
   3. If two Shipping Methods have the same display order, it will sort alphabetically.
   4. If you will be entering more Shipping Methods later, it is recommended you build spacing into your display order. For example, setup your initial Shipping Methods in groupings of 10 so you can insert more options in between later if applicable.

Flat Rate Per Item - This option allows you to charge a designated price for a particular Product. Base Rate will only be charged once, but Per Unit Cost will charge for each item in their basket.

Fixed Rate Per Item - This option allows you to charge a fixed price for shipping. It doesn't matter how much they enter into their basket. The per unit cost of this option can be found in Product Setup.

Quantity-Based Rate - This option allows you to charge a designated price per quantity they put in their basket for a particular item. Base Rate will only be charged once, but Per Unit Cost will charge for each item in their basket.

Weight-Based Rate - This option allows you to charge a designated price per weight for a particular item. Base Rate will only be charged once, but Per Unit Cost will charge for each pound in their basket.
