Web View utilizes web based technology to allow employees to update Orders using the Internet Explorer and have those changes visible immediately in Control.

Before starting this setup, please verify that the customer has the WebView module. If they do not have the WebView module they must purchase this first and you can direct the customer to mailto:sales@cyrious.com for pricing .


NOTE: These instructions are specifically for IIS v7.0 or IIS v7.5 which is included in Windows 7.

If IIS hasn't been installed yet on your server, click installation_of_iis_on_windows_8 for instructions on setting up IIS on your server machine. ==== Verifying and Installing .NET Framework ==== - Download the latest version of Web View. <html><div style=“margin-left: 20px;”> Note for Cyrious Techs: \\cyrious14\runimage$\Control %\WebView </div></html> - Click on Start | All Programs | Accessories | Windows Explorer. - Navigate to one of the following folders depending on whether the operating system is x32 or x64. - C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework - C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework64 - Verify the following versions of .NET are installed on the system. - v2.0.50727 - v3.0 - v3.5 - v4.030319 - If any of the above versions are not installed they can be downloaded from the links below. - Download .NET v3.5 SP1 which includes the installation for v2.0, v3.0, and v3.5. - Download .NET v4.0 ==== Installing the Web View Files ==== - Open Windows Explorer and navigate to the Cyrious folder. - Create a new folder called WebView. - Place latest WebView application files into the WebView folder. ==== Enabling Web View in Control ==== - Verify the security key is authorized for WebView, if on Control 4.6 or Earlier, or has a license key and on a stand alone sslip. - Create a folder named Temp in the WebView folder, open it, and copy the folder path in the address bar. - Open Control and navigate to Setup | System Setup | WebView Options. Click edit and paste the path you copied into the Folder Path field. <html><div style=“margin-left: 20px;”> i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyrious\WebView\Temp </div></html> <html><div style=“margin-left: 20px;”> Note: The path above may be slightly different based on the name of the WebView folder you created and install path of WebView. </div></html> - Click Save. - Close Control. - Close the SSLIP. ==== Registering Windows Communication Foundation ==== - Register this component wcf_service_model_registration. ==== Registering ASP.NET v4.0.30319 for IIS ==== - Register this component asp.net_iis_registration. ==== Configuring IIS 7.x for Web View ==== - Click on Start | Control Panel | Administrative Tools | Internet Information Services (IIS) Manager. - Expand Sites folder and right click on Default Web Site. - Click on Add Application - Enter WebView for the Alias. - Under the Physical path: section click the … button to Browse. Select the WebView folder under C:\Program Files (x86)\Cyrious\WebView. - Click the Select button and choose ASP.NET v4.0 from the application pool list. - Click the Test Settings… button, if it fails then click Connect As and specify a local user account to use to run the application. You may need to create one on the system, I would not recommend using a normal user account on the computer since the user may change their password at some point which would cause Web View to stop working. ==== Setting up SQL Server User for WebView or Production Terminal ==== - Go to Start | All Programs | Microsoft SQL Server - Locate and open the SQL Server Management Studio. - Log into the SQL instance used by the Control application. - Expand the Security folder and Right-Click Logins. - Choose “New Login”. - Enter WebView as the Login Name. - Change Authentication to SQL Server Authentication. - Please contact Technical Support for the password. Be sure to enter the password they provide in all lowercase. Remove the check mark from “Enforce password policy, enforce password expiration, and User must change password at next login” *.** - Go to Server Roles section and enable all available check boxes. - Click OK to save. ==== Verifying The WebView Installation ==== - Close Control and restart the SSLIP. ==== Creating Internet Shortcut For Web View on Server ==== - Go to Start | Run | Accessories | Command Prompt - Type in ipconfig and press Enter. - Note down the internal IP Address. i.e. 192.168.1.100 - Right click on any empty area on the Desktop and choose New | Shortcut. - Type in http:/WebView i.e. http://192.168.1.100/WebView - Click OK and name the shortcut Web VIew then click OK. - Double click the Internet Shortcut that is now on your desktop to access Web View. - If prompted to install SilverLight on your machine, proceed, otherwise continue. - Login using your Control username and password. ==== Creating Internet Shortcut For WebView on the Clients ==== - Right click on Desktop and select Shortcut. - Type in http:///WebView i.e. http://192.168.1.100/WebView - Click OK and name the shortcut WebView then click OK. - Double click the Internet Shortcut that is now on your desktop to access Web VIew. - If prompted to install SilverLight on your machine, proceed, otherwise continue. - Login using your Control username and password. ==== Proof Images not displaying in WebView ==== On some systems, WebView will require some additional setup to display proof images correctly.
