This article is to help users get Production Terminal back up and running in Google Chrome if the browser disables Silverlight automatically.

NOTE: Google Chrome has officially stopped supporting external plugins and has removed the NPAPI setting completely as of September 1, 2015. Production Terminal still will function properly in Internet Explorer.

Issue

Microsoft Silverlight, which is the main component of Production Terminal, will soon no longer be supported by Microsoft. Due to this, certain browsers have started to disable Silverlight by default. Google Chrome is one of them.

Steps to resolve issue

  1. Open Chrome and browse to chrome:flags/#enable-npapi - Click the Enable NPAPI setting, as shown below - After that, click “Relaunch Now” at the bottom left of your Chrome window. Note: Closing and reopening Chrome is not sufficient, you must click the “Relaunch Now” button. - Once Chrome relaunches, go back to your Production Terminal website - You may still need to unblock the plugin at this point. To do this, click on the plugin icon in the upper right of Chrome, choose “Always allow plugins on localhost”, and then click Done. - Production Terminal should now load properly.
